New Wildflower Planting
We have recently created some new wildflower areas near to the welcome building.
Thanks to help from colleagues at Cheshire West and Chester, the area has now been rotavated and levelled. The wildflower seeds were sown in October 2023, and we are hoping to see the results the following spring. Then, in autumn, the area will be mowed after the flowers have seeded and then removed, the area will then be over sown again.
We hope to see an array of colour and a wide variety of wildflowers emerge come spring. This in turn will attract many species of insects including bees and butterflies to add to the biodiversity of the park. Not only will it look pretty, but it will enable pollinating insects to help the environment and help with carbon offsetting! So, it’s a win, win, win!
