Deer in the Forest – 2D Needle Felting Inspired by Tatton Park’s Deer Herd
Step into the peaceful woodlands of Tatton Park with this creative needle felting workshop: Deer in the Forest. Using colourful fibres and gentle layering techniques, you’ll craft a beautiful 2D felted scene featuring one of Tatton’s iconic resident deer set against a rich forest backdrop.
Led by fibre artist Vicky Pulman of Needlessly Felted, this workshop is suitable for both beginners and more experienced crafters. Drawing inspiration from the park’s woodland and its majestic deer herd, you’ll learn how to use needle felting to create depth, texture, and detail in a flat composition.
The focus will be on capturing the mood of the forest – the soft light, the tall trees, and the quiet magic of a deer caught in stillness – all in a flat piece that’s perfect for framing.
What’s Included:
- A curated selection of high-quality felting wools in natural forest tones
- All tools provided: felting needles, mats, and optional templates
- Step-by-step tuition on layering wool to build texture, detail, and atmosphere
- Entry to Tatton Park for a wander before or after the workshop to soak up woodland inspiration
This calming, creative session is a chance to connect with the natural beauty of Tatton Park and take home your own tactile artwork – ready to frame or gift.
