Join Viking Warlord, Harald Bloodaxe, and his trusted Thrall at Tata’s Tun
They have set up temporary camp on their perilous journey from Yorvik (the Viking Capital of Northumbria) to the old Roman fortress of Deva, to see the Warrior Queen of Mercia, Aethelfraeda, the daughter of Alfred the Great. Become one of Harald’s Shield Warriors or Shield Maidens and learn about Viking history and their way of life, through an engaging workshop and series of hands on activities in the atmospheric surroundings of Tatton Park’s ancient Old Hall. Are you brave enough to join the Vikings? This event is recommended for families with children aged 7-11 years old. Please note this event takes place partly outdoors and also inside an unheated, period building. All children must be accompanied by at least 1 adult, and everyone must purchase a ticket. Your participation will be recognised with a certificate issued at the end of the session. To maximise your enjoyment, it is essential you come dressed for the outdoors.
