Creative Wellbeing Workshop

Date(s)
10 August 2024
Description

Creative Wellbeing Collage

Harness the power of nature and the energy of Summer in this enriching Creative Wellbeing Workshop.

Gift yourself time to connect with your unique inner creativity and immerse yourself in the beauty of the natural world!

Within this workshop, you will be guided through a series of mindful techniques as you create soulful artworks using natural materials, in beautifully peaceful surroundings. Starting with a restoring meditation, you will then delve into the therapeutic world of botanical dyes and the magic of creating with nature. Learn about historical methods of using plants to create rich colour onto textiles and how to grow these colourful pigments in your own garden.

Discover the meanings behind an array of natural colours and the positive effects these have upon us seasonally. Using locally grown plants and flowers you will be shown traditional techniques to create unique designs and artworks.  You will explore leaf pounding, block printing, flower pressing and hand painting onto natural textiles and handmade papers. All of the practices are designed to deepen your connection with nature and evoke feelings of vitality, inner peace and creativity.

Facilitated by artist Sarah Pardoe, owner of Studio Salinger, who brings over two decades of experience in design, colour theory and creative direction, within the art and textiles industry. Studio Salinger is a local collective studio, producing art and textiles using hand crafted and historical techniques, that honour nature and folklore. Collaborating with artisans and wellbeing practitioners worldwide their unique workshops combine art, textiles and wellness, focused on enriching positive wellbeing through creative expression.
